Dell is offering the Seagate Momentus 500 GB 7200 RPM 2.5-inch Hard Drive for $96.99. This is an OEM/Dell-branded version of the drive, but it uses identical components to the Seagate version.

This drive is compatible with most notebooks, and will also work inside the Sony PlayStation 3.

The primary downside however is that this drive only includes a one year Dell limited warranty, and not the standard Seagate five year limited warranty. Despite that, the drive is $40 off the Seagate/retail price. Considering most credit cards offer double warranty coverage, it may be a good deal for many.

Also worth noting, a middle ground may be a SquareTrade 3-year warranty on the drive, available for $12.99…
